Wm. Daniel Forster
Wm. Daniel Forster age 88 of Menomonie, formerly of Durand died Wednesday May 13, 2015 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.
Dan was born August 13, 1926 at home in the Township of Lima, rural Durand. He was the son of William L. and Alvina (Bauer) Forster. Dan graduated from Sacred Heart High School-Lima in 1944. He married Lorraine Brenner in 1949 and they later divorced. Dan farmed and drove bus for the Durand School District for many years.
Dan is survived by four daughters, Margaret “Marge” (Hank) Kunkel of Menomonie; Carol (John) Weideman of Chippewa Falls; Cathy (Todd) Hovda of Kasson, MN; Rose (John) Knutson of Hudson. Grandchildren, Nicole Kunkel, Melissa (Rick) Deutsch, Joe (Jackie Weber) Kunkel, Dan (fiancé Kasey Simenson) Weideman, Kaitlyn Hovda, Tully Hovda, Lindsey Knutson, Allison (fiancé Todd Waite) Knutson, Megan (fiancé Aymar Sinaise) Knutson; great grandchildren, Ian & Aislin Sheridan, Robert Deutsch, step great grandson, Ricky Deutsch; three sisters, Blanche Caton of Eau Claire, Mary Regina Forster of Weed, CA, Clarissa Ramsey, of Gardners, PA; three brothers, Roger of Aurora, CO, Maurice of Menomonie, David of Elk River, MN, several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Mary Jean and an infant sister Lillian.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Potter’s Country Home, Oakview Care Center and The Neighbors of Dunn County for the care given to Dan the past several years.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Monday May 18, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima, rural Durand with Rev. Eric Linzmaier officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
