Joseph H. Weber

Joseph H. Weber

Joseph Herbert Weber died on June 30th, 2015 at the Special Care Unit of Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie.

Joe was born January 7th, 1929 in the township of Weston to Emma (Wolf) and Charles Weber.  Joe graduated in 1947 from Dunn County Agricultural School.  He married the love of his life, Mary Karrow on September 14th, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie where he was a lifetime parish member.  Joe and Mary owned a dairy farm in Weston Township where Joe milked cows until 1999. On this farm, they raised their six children, whom were his pride and joy.

After his retirement, Joe and Mary continued to live on the farm, where he loved raising livestock and running his treasured apple orchard.  Joe always enjoyed picking apples with the family and visiting with his many faithful customers.  As a tribute, the family will continue to care for his orchard.  Joe enjoyed hosting gatherings on the farm, especially the annual 4th of July celebrations that brought together friends and family and created lasting memories for all.

Joe loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they always looked forward to Kubota rides with “Grampa Joe” around the farm.  They also loved playing with the many cats he welcomed to and lovingly cared for on the farm.   Joe spent hours working in the garden and helping Mary care for the beautiful flowers that adorn their yard.  He was also an avid Packer, Badger and Laker fan and a voracious newspaper reader.

Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary, his children, Jolene Anderson, Eau Claire, Donald (Patti), David (Carol), Dennis (Ranee), all of Menomonie, Jodi (Chad) Preston, Elk Mound and Joyce (Tadd) Baumann St. Cloud, Minnesota.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren- Bryce (Melanie) Anderson, Hayley (Jose) Izea and Dana Weber, Andrea (Bowen)Barnard, Nicole (Ed) Rygiel, Kelsey and Noelle Weber, Heather (Jason) Johnson, Joey Weber, Rachel Preston and Matthew, Adam, Hannah and Grace Baumann and ten great-grandchildren, Finn and Everett Anderson, Madeline, Carter and Marlee Johnson,  Justine and Trent Barnard, Sylas Izea and Noah and Collin Rygiel.  He is also survived by his brother, Carl (Jean) Weber of Rantoul, IL.  and by brother-in-law Harlow (Chris) Engel, St. Petersburg, Florida and sister-in-laws, Delma (Wesley) Mahlman, Avis (Walter) Fluekiger, all of Alma, Evelyn Hall, Newbury Park, California and Janice Thompson, El Paso, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bernie and Fred, and sister Marian Weinzirl.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Walker, Dr. Rich and the staff of the Emergency Room and Special Care Unit of Mayo Clinic Health System for their loving care and to Father Jerome Hoeser
