Suzanne P. Garske

Suzanne P. Garske age 76 of Menomonie succumbed to her four year battle with cancer on Sunday July 26, 2015 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center in Spring Valley surrounded by her family.  Her deep faith had sustained her for the duration of her illness.

Sue was born September 23, 1938 in St. Paul, MN.  She was the daughter of James and Edna (Adams) Salmon.  Sue grew up in New Orleans and shortly after high school she moved to the Somerset area of Wisconsin.  She married Kenneth Garske July 25, 1959 they made their home in Fort Benning, GA while Ken was in the service.  They later moved to the New Richmond area before settling on a farm in the Ridgeland area where they farmed and raised their family.

In her younger years, Sue was active in the Civil Air Patrol.  Sue enjoyed snowmobiling, camping with family and friends, playing pool in various leagues, hosting family holidays and she enjoyed her dogs.  She was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan and enjoyed watching the games at Jake’s Supper Club.

Sue is survived by her five children, Mona (Scott) Miller of Brookfield, Lawrence of Jackson, Dolly (Robert) Lee of Wheeler; Heidi (Dave) Kile and Heather (Justin) Sorenson both of Menomonie; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken in 2013 and a grandson Kenneth Garske.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday July 30, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie, with Rev. James Kurzynski officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
