Ronald "Joe"  Bauer

Ronald J. “Joe” Bauer, age 56 of Boyceville, formerly of Durand, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his home in Boyceville.

Joe was born on April 9, 1959 in Durand. He was the son of Giles “Putter” and Myrna (Hanson) Bauer. Joe grew up in the Durand area and graduated from Durand High School in 1977 where he participated in football and golf. After high school Joe worked for Brunkow Hardwoods Lumber Mill in Nelson. Joe enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his father; Giles “Putter” Bauer of Durand, one brother; Randy “Putter” (Tricia) of Menomonie, two nephews; Blake and Cale Bauer of Menomonie, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother; Myrna Sosnoskie, step-mother; Beatrice Bauer and one nephew; Nathan Bauer.

The family would like to thank Joe’s Aunt and Uncle, Marge and Jerome Bien, and the entire Bien family for their kindness and concern for Joe.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 13, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. Rev. Paul Bosco will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Thursday.

    I was Ronnie Joe Bauer' s 5th grade teacher in Durand at Caddie Woodlawn. I remember him as as very energetic young man-one who loved to have fun. I was his teacher when I was just getting started. My condolences to all the family.3
