Bonnie J. Bauer

Bonnie J. Bauer, age 74, of Durand, died Monday, September 1, 2015 at her home in Durand with her family by her side.

Bonnie was born on April 22, 1941 in Durand. She was daughter of Gale and Lucille (Metcalf) Miner. Bonnie grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. She married Lambert Bauer on November 26, 1960 at St. Mary’s Church in Durand. Bonnie worked as CNA at the Chippewa Valley Hospital, was an EMT for the Durand Ambulance Service and worked for Chippewa Valley Veterinary Clinic in Durand. She retired in 2005 from the Chippewa Valley Hospital due to her illness. Bonnie and Bert also owned and operated the Prairie Inn in Durand for four years.

Bonnie enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially camping, boating and sitting around bon fires. She also loved her cats, most of all, Alice. In later years she enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her children; Dennis (Marie) of Eau Galle, David of Arkansaw and Lori Place of Durand, seven grandchildren; Brian, Travis, Kim, Sarah, Stacy, Shane and Samantha, five great grandchildren; Kami, Trinity, Caleb, Jaidyn and Evan, two sisters; Lou Ann (Chuck Frieburg) Wood of Boyceville and Deb (Ron) McMahon of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Bert, one son; Donald in infancy and two brothers; Richard and Robert Miner.

Prayer Service will be 11:45 AM Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Rev. Paul Bosco will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
