Lois M. Hoff
Lois M. Hoff, age 79 of Menomonie, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie with her family by her side.
Lois was born on July 8, 1936 at home in the Town of Rock Elm, Pierce County. She was the daughter of Matt and Lena (Maczkowicz) Sagstetter. At an early age the family moved to Menomonie where Lois graduated from Menomonie High School in 1954. After high school, Lois started working and the Lakeside Aluminum plant in Menomonie where she met the love of her life, Marvin Hoff. Lois married Marvin on July 21, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie. After marriage they moved to Iowa where they had two of their seven children before moving back to Menomonie where they had the other five. Lois started babysitting at home when her children were old enough to be in school. Later in life, Lois worked at Bodoh Dry-cleaning in Menomonie for a short time before working at Marketplace Foods as a housekeeper.
Lois enjoyed gardening, working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She also liked knitting and baking. Most of all, Lois loved spending time with family and friends.
Lois is survived by her children; Sheryl (Gale) Reinecke of Menomonie, Joan (Rollie) Hall of River Falls, Greg (Cindy) of Boyceville, Mike (Lisa), Karen Hoff, Tish Jacobs and Jeff (Kris), all of Menomonie, 13 grandchildren; Wendy, Adam (Diana), Renee (Jason), Amy (Joe), Allen (Cheryl C), Kevin (Rayan), Sammy (Jared), Andria, Carter, Sydney, Parker, James and Andrew, 13 great grandchildren; Jazzmyn, Brooklyn, Taylor, Nate, Myles, Lilianna, Ellie, Camden, Mack, Hailey, Zachary, Isaac and Brynley, one brother; Bob (Barbara) Sagstetter of Marshfield, four sisters; Anita Thoeny of Sun Prairie, Jane (Pat) Wilson of Roseville, MN, Jerene (Ed) Grilz of Maplewood, MN and Bunny (Steve) White of Menomonie, one sister-in-law; Pat Sagstetter of Mesa, AZ, two brothers-in-law; Jim Bosley of Michigan and Dennis Reidt of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Marvin, two brothers; Lester and Alfred Sagstetter, two sisters; Rita Bosley and Diane Reidt.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. James Kurzynski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
