James A. Hayden

James A. Hayden, age 82 of Durand, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

James was born on July 9, 1933 in Durand. He was the son of August and Eleanor (Weissinger) Hayden. James grew up in the Lima area and attended Sacred Heart Schools in Lima. James worked for Bauer Built for 18 years. He married Sally Webb on May 18, 1954 in Eau Galle. After marriage, they lived in the Eau Galle area where they raised their family. James also worked for the Country Side CO-OP until retiring. Sally passed away in 2011.

James was a member of St. Henry’s Polka Choir. Together, James and Sally catered many events in the area for many years. He also liked bowling, fishing and playing cards. Most of all, James loved spending time with family and friends.

James is survived by his children; Donna Buchholtz of Rice Lake, James (Pam) of Frisco, TX, Robert (Lana), Randy (LuAnn), Dan (Karla), all of Durand, 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister; Bernice Brantner of Eau Galle, one brother; Joe (Marilyn) of Altoona, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Sally, one son-in-law; David Buchholtz, three sisters; Helen Bilderback, Marion Prissel and Florence Fedie and two brothers; Bill Hayden and Edmund Hayden.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
