Marvin G. Pfaffe

Marvin G. Pfaffe, age 86 of Durand, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City with his family by his side.

He attended and graduated from North High School in 1947 and went on to the University of Minnesota and earned an associate’s degree. In 1950, Marvin enlisted to the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Elmendorf in the Territory of Alaska. He was Honorably Discharged in 1953. He retired in 1994 but continued to work for companies on a short term basis. In 2013 Marvin and Dorothy moved to Durand, WI, where he remained the rest of his life, to be closer to family.

Throughout Marvin’s life, the one thing that mattered most was his faith in Jesus Christ. After his discharge from the Air Force, he and Dorothy became members of the Lutheran Church of the Triune God in Brooklyn Center and was active in the choir and held officer positions in the church leadership throughout the years. The friendships and memories attained while members of “Triune God” will always be their dearest. Their circle of friends in Christ expanded for Marvin and Dorothy when they joined the congregations where their son serves at Pastor in Durand and Plum City.

Marvin and Dorothy both loved to go fishing and golfing. Most of all, Marvin enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
