Annella M. Frank

Annella M. Frank age 92 of Glenwood City, formerly of Menomonie, died Thursday January 21, 2016 at the Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glenwood City, surrounded by her family.

Annella was born April 6, 1923 in Menomonie, she was the daughter of Carl and Anna (Brehm) Howe.  She grew up in the Menomonie area.  She attended Birthman and St. Joseph’s Grade Schools. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1941.  Annella married Elmer “Fuzz” Frank on November 24, 1941 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie.  After marriage they made their home on a farm near Hatchville.  Along with farming and raising her family, Annella also worked at the Dew Drop Inn, Connell’s Apple Orchard and Sanna Dairies.  In 1978, they sold the farm and moved to Spring Valley.  Annella worked Sons Tool in Woodville, Reid’s Hatchery in Spring Valley and the Spring Valley Health Care Center in the Kitchen.  Fuzz died in 1997 and for the past nine years she has been a resident of Glenhaven Nursing Home

Annella enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and making them Angel food birthday cakes. Her grandchildren will especially miss the homemade chicken noodle soup. She also enjoyed helping at St. Joseph’s Church with the annual thrift sales and funerals.  Annella also enjoyed helping her children when they would have their own thrift sales.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Annella is survived by four daughters, Charlotte “Char” Gregor of Menomonie, Shirley (Leon) Weber of Hartland, Marilyn Olson of Menomonie, Diane Klatt of Glenwood City; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, six great- great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Michelle, a great granddaughter Tanya, a son-in-law; Conrad Olson, a sister Lorranie Trainor, three brothers, Eugene, Maurice and Wilbur “Ozzie” Howe.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday January 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. James Kurzynski officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
