Gertrude K. Patrow

Gertrude K. Patrow age 68 of Ellsworth, formerly of Durand, died on Friday January 29, 2016 at Preferred Senior Living in Ellsworth.

Gertie was born October 31, 1947 in Durand.  She was the daughter of Sidney and Norma H. (Evanson) Severson and grew up in the Urne area of Buffalo County.  Gertie graduated from Durand High School in 1965.  Gertie married Kenneth Patrow February 24, 1968 at Lyster Lutheran Church in Nelson. After marriage they lived for a short time in LeSuer, MN before returning to Durand where they raised their family.  Gertie worked for the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand for several years.

Gertie enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, making quilts, shopping for her granddaughters, and spending time with her children and granddaughters.

Gertie is survived by a daughter, Nora (Clay) Meadows of Fredericksburg, TX, a son, Randy (Tammy) of Ellsworth; three grandchildren, MaKayla, Khloe and Sophia; a sister, Sharon Severson of Kansas and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken in 2012.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday February 4, 2016 at Lyster Lutheran Church-Urne, in Nelson. Rev. Michael Vetsch will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
