Carol B. Davis

Carol B. Davis, age 89 of Plum City, formerly of Durand, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Pepin Health and Rehab in Pepin.

Carol was born on February 14, 1926 in Durand. She was the daughter of Charles and Marie (Madsen) Bauer. Carol grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School in 1944. After high school, Carol enlisted in to the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp where she served as a nurse for the Armed Services, then went on to work as a nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN and Community Hospital in River Falls. During her time at Community Hospital, Carol met Richard Davis, MD and they were married on May 10, 1949 in Durand. After marriage, they lived in Shell Lake and New Richmond where they raised their family. Richard passed away in 1975. In 1982 Carol returned home to Durand where she remained the rest of her life.

Carol enjoyed traveling, taking photographs and renovating houses. She was a member of the St. Paul Camera Club for over 20 years. Carol loved spending time with family and friends.

Carol is survived by her children; Rick (Selba) of Virginia, Chris Zachman of Blaine, MN and Bruce (Kris) of Virginia, three grandchildren; Kaili (Thomas), Bree and Brody, one great granddaughter; Desirae, one sister; Joyce (Charles) Muckenfuss of  Schenectady, NY, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Richard and one sister; Dorothy Bauer.

Funeral Services will 1:00 PM Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Chaplin Steven Kaehr will officiate. Friends may call from Noon until the time of services at the funeral home on Sunday.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
