Joyce A. Weber

Joyce A. Weber age 80, of Elmwood, died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday April 1, 2016 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home.

Joyce was born July 19, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to John and Margaret (Kearns) Lynch.  She attended the Academy of Holy Angels School in Minneapolis until her senior year when she moved to Elmwood to help a family member with health issues.  She graduated from Elmwood High School in 1953.  Joyce married Jerry Weber on October 13, 1956.  She was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker who always put her family first.  Joyce worked with Jerry at the Weber Motors car dealership and did accounting for several other business until she retired in 1998.

Joyce was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood where she taught religious education for many years.  She and Jerry spent summers at their cabin near Siren and wintered in Destin, FL where she enjoyed looking out at what she called “her ocean”.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of 59 years, along with four children; Linda (Rob) Gornick of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Cheri (Randy) Weiss of Durand, Dianne (Roger) Somekawa of Minnetonka, MN and Marc (Catherine St. Hill) Weber of St. Paul, MN.  She is also survived by a brother, John Lynch of Mound, MN, eight grandchildren and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son David in infancy, two sisters, Jean Ashwell and Sharon Gleason.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be used to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to thank the staff at Welcome Home Assisted Living, Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care that was given to Joyce.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday April 7, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood with Rev. Prince Raja officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
