Rose K. Hall

Rose Kathryn Hall age 90 of Menomonie, passed away Thursday May 19, 2016 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

Rose was born April 11, 1926 in Menomonie to Jacob and Elizabeth (Traxler) Steies.  Rose attended St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School and graduated in 1940.  She attended Menomonie High School and graduated in 1944.  Rose worked at Borgstad’s Ben Franklin, Montgomery Ward and U.W. Stout.  She married Donald E. Hall February 15, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie.

Rose was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, member of the P.C.C.W., Mother Theresa Circle, VFW Auxiliary and Myrtle Werth Auxiliary.  Rose spent many hours volunteering for Meals on Wheels, St. Joseph Church, Dunn County Health Care Center and Wisconsin Credit Union. 

After retiring Rose and Don traveled around the country and spent their winters in the South until Don’s ill health.

Rose is survived by two sons, Ronald of Aurora, CO and Steven (Julie) of Aberdeen, MS; a daughter, Lori (David) Cieslewicz of Green Bay; two grandsons, Alex Hall and Jeremy Cieslewicz; a step grandson, Josh Faulkner, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rose will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, two brothers, Leo and Robert Steies; four sisters, Helen Williams, Olive Wehrwein, Laura Schroeder and an infant sister, Elizabeth; two sisters-in-law, Doris Steies, Dorothy Steies, three brothers-in-law, Royal Williams, Harley Wehrwein and Ted Schroeder.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday May 24, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. James Kurzynski officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

    I just saw this and am so sorry missed the funeral. My prayers are with the entire family. Rose was a very special woman and a very dedicated employee.
    I truly was blessed getting to know her and most of her family while she worked for me at U.W. Stout.
