Lyle A Griess

Lyle A. Griess, age 58 of Arkansaw, died unexpectedly of natural causes on June 1, 2016 at his home in Arkansaw.

Lyle was born on October 30, 1957 in Henderson, NE. He was the son of Edgar and Doris (Anderson) Griess. Lyle grew up in the areas of Sutton, NE and Atkinson, NE. After school, Lyle went to work farming. He farmed his entire career in farms across Nebraska. In 2002, Lyle moved to Wisconsin to be closer to his children. Lyle settled in Arkansaw in 2006, where he remained the rest of his life.

Lyle’s fondest days were spent working on the farm. He also enjoyed taking care of his fish at home and going to classic cars shows. Most of all, Lyle loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Lyle is survived by his children; Michelle Woodward of South St. Paul, MN, Kimberly Schneider of Plum City, Amanda (William) Owens of Lake Elmo, MN and Wendi Griess of Skandia, MI, four grandchildren; Dylan, Jaden, Cale and Evangeline, one brother; Verlin (Lynnette) Griess of Atkinson, NE, one sister; Glenda Reutzel of Norfolk, NE, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Jerome and two brothers in infancy and a son-in-law; Michael A. Schneider.

A Celebration of Lyle’s Life will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Arkansaw Community Center, N6223 County Rd N, Arkansaw, WI 54721.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.

    You all have my sincere sympathies. Lyle joined our grade school class (three girls) when he moved to Atkinson. I always felt sorry for him being the only boy. We were in the same class all through school after that. Lyle was always polite and a nice kid, ornery, but nice!
    I am so sorry to for your loss.
