Mary Bolle Larrabee

December 23, 1942 - July 12, 2016

Mary Margaret Mable Bolle was born at home on the family farm in the middle of a snow storm on December 23, 1942 in the town of Dunn, in Dunn County Wisconsin to Edwin and Saphronia (Hohlbein) Bolle. After a long illness, the Lord took her hand and lead her home on July 12, 2016 from her home in the town of Spring Brook, rural Menomonie.

From a young age Mary loved horses and starting with her beautiful palomino named Silver, she owned many horses. Mary enjoyed riding and was active in the Menomonie Saddle Club for many years.  It was while Mary was working at Presto in the late 1960s that she met the love of her life John W. Larrabee, who she later married.

Mary worked several years at the D & M Ceramic Shop in Menomonie. In 1985 Mary began work for the Dunn County Health Care Center and retired from her position as a cook in 2010.

Mary’s survivors include her brother Jerry "Butch" (Sharry) Bolle and sister-in-law Lucretia Bolle. Mary’s step-children Pamela (Rodney) Lindner, Larkin (Fanki) Larrabee, Laural Larrabee, Leta (Thomas Hejtmanek) Larrabee and Lynn Larrabee. Brother-in-law Carl (Diane) Larrabee and sister-in-law Zilpha Brensdal. Many nieces and nephews and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her friends at Exit 45 and her special angel LuAnne and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Larrabee. Her parents Edwin and Saphronia Bolle, a brother Donald Bolle, and sisters Lois Mattison and Carol Braford.

For many years Mary served on the board of the the Forest Center Cemetery, in the town of Spring Brook. Mary will be buried there beside her husband John.

It was Mary’s wish not to have a formal funeral service. A farewell gathering for Mary will be held at the Downsville Rec. Park on Sunday, July 17 from 12 - 3 p.m.

Condolences

  1. Jeff & Sandy Creaser

We were out of town and couldn't attend Mary's farewell gathering, so we would like to extend our sympathy to all Mary's family and friends. I used to work with Mary at the Health Care Center. She was a good, hardworking person. I seen Mary and John over at the cancer center and the concern they showed my mom was very touching. Thoughts and prayers go out to you all, Jeff & Sandy Creaser

  2. Karen Lee

I remember the countless hours Mary spent as a ring steward at local horse shows. RIP Prayers for her family.
