Ronald J. Bauer

Ronald J. Bauer age 82 of Rock Falls, died Saturday August 6, 2016 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Ron was born March 28, 1934 at home in the Town of Albany, rural Durand.  He was the son of William M. and Margaret (Hayden) Bauer and grew up in that community.  Ron married Sylvia Catt February 14, 1956 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima, Durand, WI.  After marriage they lived and farmed in Mondovi for a short time and then moved to Rock Falls, where he remained the rest of his life.  Besides farming, Ron hauled cattle and milk for his father. He continued farming and also worked at Faribault Foods in Mondovi until he retired.

Ron was a kind, loving, gentle man who loved spending time with his family, grandchildren & great grandchildren, listening to polka music and a Bloody Mary, preferably together when possible.

Ron is survived by his wife Sylvia of 60 years, seven children, Daniel C. (Cynthia) of Solon Springs; David (Laurel) of Eau Claire; Randy (Roberta) of Madison, Roger (Nancy) of Eau Claire; Annette (Steve) Schmidt of Eau Claire; Tony (Becky) of Elk Mound; Mike (Joan) of Rock Falls; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Myrna Weber of Elmwood; Shirley (Bill) Berger of Mondovi; Judy Kainz of Menomonie; Debbie (Steve) Hubbard of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Gary (Judi) of Durand and Larry (Carolyn) of Eau Claire.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, Daniel Weber and Michael “Pat” Kainz and a sister-in-law, Debbie Diesing.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday August 12, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls with Rev. Joseph Nakwah officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at the church on Friday.

    Family of Ron Bauer, Sorry to hear that Ron had passed away. He would come in to Handy Mart so I got to know him some he was a sweet man. Also I think I graduated with Annette and were friends back then. Take care and God bless, I will keep you in my prayers.
