Linda D. Wagner

Linda D. Wagner age 69 of Menomonie, passed away on Friday November 11, 2016 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.

Linda was born November 7, 1947 in Kendallville, IN.  She was the daughter of Robert and Daisy (Dauber) Dilts and grew up in Sturgis, MI.  After the death of her father, she was raised by her mother and Robert Groff.  She graduated from Sturgis High School.  Linda attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN.  While attending college, Linda worked for Billy Graham Publishing.  Linda married Gary L. Wagner December 4, 1971 in Sturgis, MI.  After marriage they ministered in Phoenix, AZ, Eldon, IA, Sturgis, MI, Whitehall, and Nekoosa, WI before moving to Menomonie in 1979.  Linda went back to school at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and obtained her teaching degree.  Linda taught school at Alliance Christian School in Menomonie for five years.  Linda then worked at Stout doing administration work in the Chancellor’s office, Administration office and retired from the Art Dept. in 2009.

Linda was an avid reader.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, doing art work and painting.  She especially loved being a caregiver to her children and grandchildren, and spending time with her family and friends,

Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary, one son, Justin of Menomonie, five grandchildren, Alyssa, Ainsley, Bree, Julius (JT), Elle Mae, one brother, Bob (Ina) Groff of Sturgis, MI, two sisters, Debbie (Dennis) Landry of Granger, IN and Heather (Terry) Smith of Wilson, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Jason and Joel, and a brother, Kevin.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday November 18, 2016 at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie with Rev. Jerauld Rekow officiating with burial to follow in the Ford Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.

    I will miss you greatly Aunt Linda, I am sorry I can't be there in person with family and friends to see you off. I still remember you comming for a visit when I was a kid and sticking up for me when people were making fun of me and calling me stupid because I couldn't spell some words, you just looked at them and then me an said 'just because she can't get it now doesn't me she is stupid and won't get it later and she is very smart and will do something great.' It has helped me still to this day to succeed in life. I will miss you greatly and whish I had spent more time with you. I love and miss you…rest in peace now Aunt Linda

    Gary and Justin, so sorry for your loss of Linda. She was always smiling and kind to everyone. I enjoyed seeing her daily at Wakanda and visiting with her at the classroom events our grandkids were in. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
