Helen E. Maylahn age 86 of Mukwonago, died Wednesday January 11, 2017 at her home in Mukwonago.

Helen was born October 23, 1930 in the Township of Spring Brook Dunn County.  She was the daughter of John P. Lutzen and Gladys M. Curtis and grew up in the Elk Mound Community.  Helen graduated from Dunn Co. Aggie in1948.  She worked at Employers Mutual in Wausau.  She later transferred to Milwaukee and continued to work for Employers Mutual.  While in Wausau she met Ralph P. Maylahn and they were married July 4, 1966 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elk Mound.  After marriage they lived in Milwaukee until 1982 when they moved to Genesse Depot until 2005 when they moved to Mukwonago.  For the past five years, Helen volunteered her time at the Clothes Closet in Waukesha.  Ralph died in 2007.

Helen is survived by her son Andrew of Milwaukee, two sisters, Rose Frenchick of Eau Claire, Kathleen (LaVerne) Brantner of Racine, three brothers, Lloyd (Claudia) of Bentonville, AR, Raymond (Linda) and Peter (Marilyn) both of Elk Mound, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, two brothers, Theodore and John and a sister, Marie Lutzen.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday January 19, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elk Mound with Rev. John Schultz officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until the time of the services at the church on Thursday.

    Sorry to hear of Helen,s passing, I didn,t know her well, but we would look forward to seeing each other in church. It was always a pleasure to see her.my sympathy to all the family.
