Barbara A. Kardash

Barbara A. Kardash age 83 of River Falls, formerly of Elmwood, died Saturday January 28, 2017 at River Falls Area Hospital.

Barb was born October 17, 1933 in Elmwood.  She was the daughter of Arthur and Rose (Marson) Huebner and grew up in the Elmwood community.  Barb graduated from Elmwood High School in 1952.  After high school, Barb lived in the Milwaukee area for several years where she met her husband Ervin.  They later moved and settled in Elmwood where they raised their two daughters Ruth and Holly.  Barb could be seen around town in several locations.  She worked a Sailer’s Market for over 30 years.  Her and Ervin managed the local bowling alley for many years.  Barb was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was housekeeper to the priest, publisher of the weekly bulletin, member of the Alter and Rosary, and her and Erv were the church custodians.

Barb is survived by her two daughters, Ruth (Danny) Vondersmith of Silverdale, WA and Holly Kardash (Jeremy Fritz) of Fort Myers, FL; a brother Jerry (Janet) Huebner, two sisters Betty Hawkins and Mary (John) Stricklin; five grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, and Alicia Vondersmith, Alexis and Spencer Shields.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ervin, her brother Arthur & sister Ruth.

Memorial services will held at 11:00 AM Saturday February 11, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood with Rev. Prince Raja officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

    We are so sorry for your loss. After losing mom (Jane Eberhardy) just last November we know how hard all this is. Barbara was my Godmother. We hadn't seen each other in a long time but she always wrote me at Christmas and sometimes during the year.. Our condolences and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.
