Arlene J. Markey

Arlene J. Markey age 83 of Eau Galle, died Sunday February 5, 2017 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Arlene was born June 9, 1933 in the Township of Eau Galle, Dunn County.  She was the daughter of Paul and Delia (Samuels) Schroeder and grew up in the Elmwood area.  Arlene married Kenneth “Bud” Markey July 28, 1955 in Goodhue, MN.  After marriage they made their home in Eau Galle and raised their family.  Arlene worked seasonally for Huntsinger Farms for a few years and also cleaned houses in the area.  Arlene loved to work in her garden. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arlene is survived by her children, Michael Markey of Arkansaw, John (Joyce) Markey of Rock Falls, Donna (Dick) Karshbaum of Arkansaw; two grandchildren, Jason (Brittany) Karshbaum of Durand, Nicole (Mike) Oswald of Cottage Grove, MN, 3 great grandchildren, Jayden & Andrew Oswald and Bennett Karshbaum, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud in 1985, three sisters, Lorraine Schroeder, Dorothy Wolf, Phyllis DeLong and one brother, Carl Schroeder.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday February 12, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.
