Arcella E. Kralewski

Arcella E. Kralewski, age 90 of Durand, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Wabasha, MN with her family by her side.

Arcella was born on December 20, 1926 in the Town of Frankfort, Pepin County. She was one of four children born to Gustaf and Agnes (Kallstrom) Peterson.  Arcella grew up in the town of Frankfort and attended Little Plum School. On May 8, 1945 Arcella married Wilfred Kralewski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. After marriage they lived on her husband’s family farm and raised their family in the Town of Maxville, Buffalo County. Arcella continued living on the farm after Wilfred’s death in December of 1997 for the rest of her life. She worked at St. Benedict’s Hospital in Durand and later at Skogmo’s Store for more than 40 years. Arcella retired in 1995.

Arcella’s biggest pleasure in life was her family. She enjoyed them all, especially the little ones. She had a love of her flower garden, embroidery and counted cross stitch. Arcella and Wilfred spent many days camping on their land near Chetek with family and friends, and fishing the Chain of Lakes.

Arcella is survived by her children; Ronald (Marlene) of Durand, Wayne (Mary Jane) of Rock Falls and Donna (John) Johnson of Chetek, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brother-in-law; John Kralewski of Minnetonka, MN, sister-in-law; Judith Peterson of Arkansaw, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, husband; Wilfred, son; Patrick Kralewski, one granddaughter; Theresa Lane, sister; Anna Carlson and two brothers; Anton and Arthur Peterson.

Funeral Mass will be 12:00 PM Noon Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Paul Bosco officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Friday.
