Gregory D. Pichler, age 54 of Menomonie, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his home in Menomonie due to long term complications of a major stroke.
Greg was born on January 19, 1963 in Durand. He was the son of Wilbert and Violet (LaPean) Pichler. Greg grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School in 1981. After high school, Greg joined the U.S. Army Reserves, served for six years and was Honorably Discharged. Greg was a baker in Eau Claire for Hoepner’s Bakery for many years. He married Brenda Chaney in July of 2007. They were together until her death in 2015.
Greg enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Las Vegas and being adventurous. He liked watching the Packers, driving his purple Camaro and taking care of his dogs. Most of all, Greg loved to spend time with family and friends, especially his daughter, Ashley and grandson, Oliver.
Greg is survived by his daughter; Ashley Tomlin of Eau Claire, grandson; Oliver, parents; Wilbert and Violet Pichler of Durand, three brothers; Lonnie (Cindy) of Appleton, Doug (Jolene) of Eau Claire and Corey (fiancé Deanna Woyczik) of Elk Mound, two sisters; Lorna (Matt) Nelson of Menomonie and Valli (Robb) Sarasin of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife; Brenda.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie with Rev. Dan Richardson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
