Betty A. Brunner age 62 of Ellsworth, formerly of Durand, passed away on Friday March 30, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, MN.

Betty was born January 18, 1956 in Durand, WI.  She was the daughter of Matt and Dorothy (Helgoe) Brunner.  Betty was born with Down Syndrome and lived in group homes in Ellsworth most of her life.  She worked at Pro-Act in Red Wing for 25 years until her retirement.

Betty enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to Disneyworld, sewing, watching movies, and constructing jigsaw puzzles.  She was involved in Special Olympics specializing in bowling and track.  Showing a great amount of enthusiasm and competitive spirit for all her activities was Betty’s claim to fame.

Betty loved her family and her wonderful caregivers over the years.  Betty’s family would like to thank, Deb Roman and Brotoloc Health Care for all the love and care given to Betty.

Betty is survived by her brother, Bill (Pam) Brunner of Eau Claire, her sister, Barb Kallstrom of Durand; two nephews, Tony Brunner of Washington, D.C. and Sam Brunner of Minneapolis, MN; two nieces, Katie (Jeff) Walk of Eau Claire and Sara (Grant Tharaldsson) Kallstrom, of Eau Claire; a great-nephew and great-niece, Max and Madeline Reid of Eau Claire.  Betty is preceded in death by her parents.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date with internment in Holy Rosary Cemetery –Lima, Durand.
