Sid M. Qualley

Sid M. Qualley, age 84 of Eau Claire, died Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Sid was born on April 18, 1934 on the family farm in Hills, MN. He was the son of Melvin G. and Selma (Sjolseth) Qualley. Sid grew up in Luverne, MN and attended Luverne High School. At the age of 17, Sid chose to join the U.S. Airforce. He served during the Korean Conflict as an aircraft mechanic and was Honorably Discharged in 1955. Sid married Marilyn F. Davis on May 21, 1955 at Palisades Lutheran Church in rural Garretson, SD. After marriage they lived in several areas before settling in Eau Claire in 1976. He was a salesman for National Cash Register (NCR). After they closed the office in 1978, Sid continued in sales for several other companies. Sid retired and drove school bus for the Eau Claire School District for 14 years.

 Sid enjoyed remodeling the house and going camping. He was the Commander of the Eau Claire American Legion Post #53 for several years. Most of all, Sid enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Sid is survived by his wife of 63 years; Marilyn, children; Scott of Arkansaw, Carol (Darren Paulson) Laschinger of Arkansaw and Karen (Kelly) Golden of Colorado Springs, six grandchildren; Teshara (Jake), Nathan, Troy (friend Ashley), Todd (Fiancé Ricci), Amy and Joe, three great granddaughters; Graecyn, Lylah and Finley, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister.

Memorial Services will be 7:00PM Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until the time of services at the funeral home on Thursday.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
