Michael C Harmon
Michael C. Harmon, age 82 of Sioux Falls, SD died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Hammond Health Services in Hammond with his family by his side.
Mike was born January 27, 1941 in Eau Claire. He was the son of Carl and Esther (Traun) Harmon. Mike grew up in the Arkansaw area and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1959. After high school, Mike joined the U.S. Army and served as a Military Police in Germany until being honorably discharged. Mike married Naomia Schaffner, together they had two daughters and later divorced. His 40-year career was being an over the road truck driver and later owned Harmon Trucking Company in Sioux Falls, SD. In retirement, Mike moved back to Arkansaw to be closer to family.
Mike enjoyed being outside and was meticulous about mowing his lawn. He also liked fishing, camping and hunting.
Mike is survived by his daughter Suzette (Todd) Sherburne of Sioux Falls, SD, grandson Shawn (Jessica) Halterman of Cottage Grove, MN, great-grandchildren, Hayden, Gavin and Quinn, siblings Monica (John) Krings of Arkansaw, Alice (David) O’Donnell of Roberts, Bill (Deb) of Menomonie, Ed (Julie) of Arkansaw, Tony of Baldwin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son-in-law Marcia and Dale Halterman, grandson Cody Halterman, brother Tom Harmon and sister-in-law Sally Harmon.
Graveside Services will be 10:00AM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Arkansaw.
