Christine Jo Chastan, 72, of Menomonie, passed away peacefully at her home in the Township of Tainter, rural Colfax on September 15, 2023.

Christie was born October 21, 1950, to Joseph and Margaret (Bertagnolli) Chastan in Keewatin, MN.  She attended UW-Madison and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.  The majority of her life was spent in the New York City area and Madison, Wisconsin.  Her talents were abundant, especially when it came to time spent in the kitchen.  Many people were recipients to her “creations”!  Her creativity was evident in all facets of her life and work.

Christie is survived by four brothers, Don (Susan), Jeff, Mark (Terri), John (Laura); four sisters, Kay, Barbie (Dave) Hoffman, Mary (Jeff) Manor and Nancy.  Also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews:  Nikki and Riah Chastan, Christopher (Colette) and Nick (Jeanne) Chastan, Nathan (Andrea) Manor, Coral (Kertsze) Nunes, Chelsea Manor and Sarah (Dave) Keyes and Tony Hoffman, AJ and Patrick Chastan, Terrence Chastan-Davis and Amanda Chastan, as well as ten great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Davey and many beloved cats.

Memorials may be made to Stepping Stones of Dunn County or the Dunn County Humane Society.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    My sympathy to you all in Christine's passing. I have a lot of enjoyable memories of our time spent during junior high and high school. I still enjoy a small framed watercolor she sent me as a wedding gift year ago. She was a special person.
