Frank K Brantner

Frank K. Brantner Jr., age 86 of Mondovi, died Sunday, April 14, 2024 at his home in rural Rock Falls with his family by his side.

Frank was born on September 15, 1937 on the Brantner home farm in the Town of Albany. He was the son of Frank and Emma (Pichler) Brantner Sr. Frank grew up on the home farm and attended school at the Pepin County School. After school, Frank went to work on the family farm. He also worked at Mississippi Welders, Clark’s Hatchery in Meridean, a road patrolman for the Town of Albany, welding for Elgene Ableidinger and cut wood his entire life. Frank married Myrna A. Hubbard on January 15, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls. After marriage, Frank and Myrna lived on the farm and raised their family.

In his spare time, Frank enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, watching football and gambling. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sports events.

Frank is survived by Jim (Audrey) of Durand, Tony (Anita) of Glenwood City, Cheryl (Dave) Weisenbeck of Durand, Corey (Wendy) Brantner of Durand, Lisa (Dedric) Bazille of Glenwood City; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Donna Carothers of Chippewa Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Myrna, a daughter, Victoria, and son Jody; a grandson, Darin Brantner, siblings Awald and LaVerne Brantner, Isabelle Werlien, Lucy Berger and Dorothy Moen-Olson.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00AM Monday, April 22, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls with Rev. Tim Welles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
