Florence E. Fedie, age 90 of Durand.

Born: October 19, 1919

Died: January 9, 2010 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand.

Florence was the daughter of August and Eleanora (Weissinger) Hayden. She was raised in the Town of Lima, Pepin County. Florence attended the Lima Country School. On October 12, 1938 she married Joseph Fedie at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Lima.

After marriage they farmed in the Town of Albany, rural Mondovi, Pepin County until 1984. Florence worked beside Joe on the farm and raised eight children. Her husband Joe passed away September 25, 1986.

Florence enjoyed playing cards, gardening, crocheting, going to the casino, and had a green thumb for her beautiful flowers. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Florence is survived by one son Joseph (Jane) of Mondovi, six daughters Mary (Bernard) Schmidtknecht of Mondovi, Dorothy (Rudy) Pronschinske of Waumandee, Shirley (Mark) Pronschinske of Arcadia, Judy (Tom) Weiss of Durand, JoAnne (Mitch) Doverspike of Stoughton, Sharon (Rick) Pickering of Mondovi, son-in-law David Prissel of Durand, thirty-two grandchildren, fifty-eight great grandchildren, one step granddaughter, one step great granddaughter, one sister Bernice Brantner of Durand, two brothers James (Sally) Hayden of Durand and Joseph (Marilyn) Hayden of Altoona and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, two daughters Connie King and Ruth Prissel, two grandsons Jared Pickering and Greg Schmidtknecht, son-in-law Julian King, two brothers William and Edmund Hayden and two sisters, Helen Bilderback and Marion Prissel.
