Lillian M. Bechel age 86 of Plum City,

Died: Saturday February 16, 2008 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Lillian was born September 30, 1921 in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Matthew and Bertha (Seiple) Schober and grew up in the Eau Galle community. Lillian graduated from Durand High School in 1939. She later married Jake G. Bechel September 26, 1944 in Clayfield. After marriage the made their home in the Township of Union, rural Plum City, where they farmed for many years, retiring in 1983. Lillian was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. John’s Catholic Church, and the Plum City Senior Citizens Center. Lillian enjoyed quilting, and has made quilts for all members of her family.

Lillian is survived by four daughters, Marjorie (Ron) Bartok of Plum City; Sharon (Joe) Helmueller of River Falls; Audrey (Randy) Richardson of Arkansaw; Kayleen (Dennis) Hayden of Durand; two sons, Kenneth (Diane) of Ellsworth; Gerald (Ramona) of Cottage Grove, MN; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn Fischer of Elmwood; Rosella Plemon of Lake Elmo, MN; Anna Manore of Red Wing, MN; Laurella Marano of Circle Pines, MN; one brother Anthony Schober of St. Paul, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jake in 1993; a daughter, Kay Marie; two grandsons, Travis Bechel and Jason Richardson, 1 granddaughter, Gina Bechel; two sisters, Marcella Falkner and Genevieve Langer; four brothers, Art, Larry, Ervin and Raymond Schober.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred for a memorial in memory of Jake and Lillian.
