Anna "Marie" Jardine
Anna “Marie” Jardine, age 90 of Durand, died Thursday, November 07, 2013 at the Oak View Care Center in Durand.
Marie was born on July 7, 1923 in Elmwood. She was the daughter of Peter and Olga (Meyer) Hei. Marie grew up in the Elmwood area and graduated from Elmwood High. After high school, Marie worked at an ammunition plant in Iowa during WWII. Marie married John M Jardine on August 25, 1948 in Durand. In addition to being a wife and a mother of three daughters, Marie also worked at the Durand Canning Factory. Later, she also worked at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in in the food service department in Durand for many years. Marie was a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society, a Girl Scout Leader and was very active in the Durand Ladies Bowling League. She also loved to travel around the country, going to the casino, playing bingo, playing and going to card parties. For the last 6 years, Marie has been a resident of the Oak View Care Center.
Marie is survived by her children; Sharon Hanestad of Cottage Grove, MN, Joan (Jim) Maxwell of Luck and Frances Jardine of Roberts, nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; John, one brother; Edward Hei and one sister; Lorraine Kuehl.
