Margaret E. "Marge" Griep Manor
Margaret E. “Marge” Griep Manor, age 54 of Durand, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems –Rochester with her family by her side, after a short battle with Burkitt’s lymphoma.
Marge was born on March 12, 1959 in Durand. She was the daughter Norman and Leona (Breuning) Manor. Marge grew up in the Durand area and graduated from Durand High School in 1977. After high school, Marge did bartending work in the Durand area for several years. In 1990, Marge attended Chippewa Valley Technical College where she graduated with a counseling degree in 1992. Marge worked for a short time at the Arbor Place in Menomonie before taking a job for Buffalo County as an Economic Support Specialist. In 2005 Marge was a supervisor in the Pepin County Economic Support Office until 2012. Most recently, Marge has been working for Workforce Resource Inc. in Eau Claire until her ill health.
Marge liked to do crafts, watch movies and work in her garden. She loved animals, especially her dog, Sid. Most of all she loved to spend time with family and friends.
Marge is survived by her son; Brian (Cheryl) Griep Manor of Eau Claire, two sisters; Janet (Edward) Robelia of Durand and Kaye (Dick) Norrish of Chaska, MN, two brothers; Kenneth (Peggy) and Ben (Kathy), both of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.
