Robert C "Bob" Rieck
Robert C. “Bob” Rieck age 67 of Durand, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer.
Bob was born on September 16, 1946 in Wabasha, MN. He was the son of Arthur and Fern (Carothers) Rieck. Bob grew up in the Alma area and graduated from Alma Area High School in 1964. After high school, Bob worked at the Alma CO-OP for several years before driving milk truck for Neitzel Trucking for over 30 years. Bob married JoAnn Brantner on December 2, 1978 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alma. After marriage they moved to Durand where they raised their family and Bob remained the rest of his life. In Bob’s retirement years he plowed snow for Jardine Plowing in Mondovi.
Bob enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling, 4-wheeling and cutting wood with his son, Jaramie. He was an avid Badger and Packer fan, he also had a passion for helping others. Most of all, Bob loved to spend time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, JoAnn, four children; Curt (Paula) Stewart of Arcadia, Tammy (Kenneth) Caturia, Bobbi Jo Brommer, both of Durand and Jaramie (Lisa) of Mondovi, nine grandchildren; Megan, Dayna, Amber, Ryan, Kaylee, Jenessa, Stephanie, Courtney and McKenzie, eight great grandchildren; Makenna, Britta, Alivia, Braxton, Haley, Chase, Grace and Benjamin, four brothers; Roger (Sharon), Dale (Regina), both of Alma, Gerald (Phyllis) of Modena and Dennis (Sheri) of Medford, two sisters; Betty (Joseph) Rybarczyk and Diane Rieck, both of Alma, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter; Ashley Brommer and one brother; Tom.
