Marjorie I. Stuart

Marjorie I. Stuart age 90 of Pepin, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire, with her family by her side.

Marjorie was born on December 20, 1923 in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Paul and Blanche (Clayton) Branch. Marjorie grew up in Eau Galle area and went to the Hay Creek Country School. On June 15, 1943 Marjorie married James Stuart at the Eau Galle Methodist Church in Eau Galle. After marriage they farmed and raised their family in the Town of Frankfurt, rural Pepin County. Marjorie worked on the farm while James worked in Minneapolis.  She enjoyed her cats and dogs and traveling to see family and friends.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of 70 years; James, two children; Ethel (Richard) Lanches of Wabasha and Terry of Pepin, three granddaughters; Sheila Lanches of Austin, MN Susan Lanches of Rochester, MN and Sharon Lanches of Lake City, MN, two sisters-in-law; Dorothy Stuart of Spokane, WA and May Stuart of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Stanley Branch, one sister in infancy, three brothers-in-law; Gary Frazzitta, Max and Glenn Stuart and two sisters-in-law; Joan Branch and Betty Frazzitta.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March12, 2014 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Rev. Tammy Clausen will officiate. Burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery in Arkansaw. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
