Paul "Dick" R Krueger

Paul R. “Dick” Krueger age 86 of Menomonie, died Wednesday May 28, 2014 at The Neighbors of Dunn County.

Dick was born August 16, 1927 in Menomonie, the son of Paul and Mabel (Abbott) Krueger.  He grew up in Menomonie, graduated from Menomonie High School.  Dick served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  After the service he returned to Menomonie and married Florence M. Brensdal August 24, 1947 and they had three children, Steve, Marsha and Ron. Dick began working construction and became a brick mason and worked for many contractors around the area for many years.  Dick also worked for the Menomonie School District in the custodial and maintenance Dept. Dick and Florence later divorced.  Dick later married Clara Gilgenbach in 1981.  For the past seven years, Dick has been a resident of the Dunn County Health Care Center and recently The Neighbors of Dunn County.

Dick was an avid sports fan.  He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, the L.A. Dodgers, playing cards and fishing.  Dick was a member of the Menomonie Packer Backer Club.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife, Clara; one son Ron (Ann) Krueger of Eau Claire;  a daughter-in-law, Diane Carribeau of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Whitney (Cole Cummings), Kali and Bailey Krueger; three great grandchildren, Cayden Cummings, Marina & Mitchell Krueger; four step children, Judith Schuch (Kim Swenson) of Menomonie; William “Pip” (Cindy) Gilgenbach of Birchwood; Richard Gilgenbach (Cleo Gilgenbach) & Robert (Kathy) Gilgenbach both of Menomonie; 12 step grandchildren, Julie (Jeff) Harrison; William, Michael (Abbie), Tony, Jesse Gilgenbach; Sarah (Trevor) Willkomm; James (Amber); Richard & Elizabeth Gilgenbach; Renee (Geoff) Suski, William (Emily) and  Robert (Jenny) Gilgenbach and 11 great step grandchildren; a brother Donavan (Rosemary) Krueger of Racine; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Marsha in 1997, son Steve in 2004.

Memorial services will be 12:30 PM Sunday June 1, 2014 at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie with Rev. Thomas Krieg officiating.  Burial with military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Sunday.
