Alex D. Mense
Alex D. Mense age 55 of Madison, formerly of Menomonie, passed away on Thursday August 7, 2014 at Agrace Hospice Care in Madison after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Alex was born October 29, 1958 in Menomonie, the son of Fred and Marie (Flamand) Mense. Alex enjoyed making trips (up north) to visit his family. Alex’s interest included fishing, reading, music and writing poetry. He loved spending time watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Wheel of Fortune with his friends.
Alex is survived by his father, Fred Mense of Menomonie; two sisters Patty Christianson of Fort Totten, ND; Diane (Dave) Larson, a brother Marcel, and a nephew Andy Larson all of Menomonie and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie, and a special friend, Jill.
The family wishes to thank the Agrace Hospice Care staff for all their compassion and care. A special thank you to Kivie, Kay, Bob and all the staff at Journey- Gateway and Jamestown group home for their patience and dedication for the care of Alex, and special friend and mentor, Chuck, for all his kindness and guidance to Alex throughout the years.
A Time of Gathering will be held for Alex will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday August 16, 2014 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie, followed by internment at the Falls City Cemetery, Township of Spring Brook, rural Menomonie.
