Bennie J. King
Bennie J. King age 79 of River Falls, formerly of New Richmond, died Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Aurora Group Home in River Falls.
Bennie was born on June 21, 1935 in Arkansaw. He was the son of Gaylen and Edith (Bien) King. Bennie grew up in New Richmond. He worked at St. Croix Industries in New Richmond until retirement. He enjoyed animals, especially cats. Bennie also liked coloring, gardening, attending community events and making pot holders on looms, which he sold to the staff, his guardian and doctors.
Bennie was always quick with his humor, saying that he was the cat looking for the mouse. He also liked to go with staff to visit friends, out to lunch, shopping, banking or just for the ride. Bennie opened the staff’s eyes to patience, looking at a situation in a different light and just being ok with any given situation. Bennie will be missed, but his spirit, memories and humor will continue to live within all, whom he touched.
Bennie is survived by his Aurora Group Home family of residents and staff. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the New Richmond Cemetery in New Richmond. All friends are welcome to attend.
