Anna Marie "Jac Bien

Anna Marie “Jackie” Bien, age 92, of Eau Claire died peacefully at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-LaCrosse in LaCrosse on Friday, September 5, 2014.

 

Anna Marie was born July 16, 1922 to Edward and Hannah (Vogler) Bauer in Lima Township, rural Durand. She grew up on her family’s farm and attended Sacred Heart School.  On November 5, 1940 Anna Marie married Chester J. Bien at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lima.  Chester and Anna Marie raised two daughters Shirley Ann and Phyllis Marie in Eau Claire.

 

Anna Marie was an avid gardener, baker, and a long time member of Sacred Heart Church in Eau Claire.  She enjoyed spending time with her family either at home or boating nearby lakes and rivers.  Anna Marie held a deep faith in God which was reflected in her through her kindness and unending giving to friend and family.  She will be missed dearly.

 

Anna Marie is survived by her children, Shirley Ann (William) Patterson of La Crosse and Phyllis Marie (Larry) Deinhammer of Mason, Ohio; six grandchildren; William, Brian, Jeffery, Randy, Lori and Jodi, 13 great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, one brother Edward Bauer of Durand and one sister Marge Giese of Eau Claire.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters Pauline Buchholtz and Gertrude King.

 

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, September 12, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eau Claire.  Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu will officiate.  Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery-Lima, rural Durand. Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand, and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
