Dorothy E. McClellan

Dorothy E. McClellan age 83 of Eau Galle, died Tuesday December 9, 2014 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand.

Dorothy was born July 5, 1931 in Arkansaw.  She was the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Fedie) Bauer. As a young child she moved with her family to the Eau Galle community where she grew up.  Dorothy graduated from Durand High School in 1950.  Dorothy worked for the telephone office in Eau Galle working the switch board.  Dorothy then worked as a bookkeeper for Goodrich Lumber & Coal in Durand for many years.  Dorothy married Neil McClellan August 3, 1968 in Eau Galle.  In 1978 Dorothy bartended at Jeanne’s Polecats Den in Eau Galle until 1984.  In 1985 Dorothy tended bar at Ponch’s South Side bar in Eau Galle for several years.  Neil died in 1998.

Dorothy enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Eau Galle to play cards and help out where she could.  Dorothy also liked to play bingo, gardening, shopping, going out to eat Chinese and spending time with her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Darlene Sobottka of Eau Galle and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil, and a sister Marie Bauer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday December 13, 2014 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
