Doris Marie DeLong December 28, 2014

Doris Marie DeLong age 70 of Elmwood, died Sunday December 28, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

Doris was born November 12, 1944 in Maiden Rock area of Pierce County. She was the daughter Ray and Martha (Hayes) Wheeler and grew up in the Maiden Rock area. Doris married Kenneth DeLong July 20, 1968. After marriage they made their home in Spring Lake Township of Pierce County. Doris worked for Riviera Kitchens in Red Wing, MN until they closed. Doris then worked for Genesis Industries in Elmwood for 12 years and then she retired.

Doris enjoyed fishing and hunting with Ken. She loved being in the outdoors, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Doris is survived by her husband Ken, a twin sister, Delores (John) Meyer of Red Wing, MN and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by a son and daughter in infancy and her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 3, 2015 at the Elmwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Weaver officiating. Burial will be in the Maiden Rock Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elmwood is serving the family.

So Sorry to hear of your loss. Doris and I went to grade school together in Maiden Rock and stayed friends after that. She went way to early in life.
