Marion H. Schwab

Marion Helen (Traun) Schwab of Plum City, WI died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Chippewa Valley Hospital, Durand, WI. 

Marion was born July 21, 1921 to Edward and Christina (Hetrick) Traun on Traun Bluff in Buffalo County.   During W.W. II she trained and worked as a nurse at Madison General Hospital, Madison, WI.  She relocated to Plum City, WI and worked at Plum City Hospital. She married Bernard John Schwab on Oct. 28, 1943 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Durand, WI. 

Marion is survived by four daughters; Rita (Thomas) Lawton of Box Elder, SD, Suzanne (Dale) Gilles of Plum City, Nancy (Jerome) Ebensperger of Mosinee and Sister Deborah Schwab, FSPA of La Crosse WI,  one brother, Robert (Bernice) Traun of Nelson and one sister, Irene Brion Bluem (Ken) of Durand, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including two special nephews; Daniel (Annette) Schwab of Hudson and Br. David Schwab, OFM of Mt. Calvary, WI. 

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Mildred, Lucy, Eleanor, Rose, Esther, Elizabeth, and brother, John.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, can be made to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, 912 Market Street, La Crosse, Wi for ministry to the poor and homeless or to St. Ben's Community Meal, 1015 North 9th St. Milwaukee, WI 53233. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM, with rosary at 10:15 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Plum City followed by burial in St John's Cemetery. 

The family wishes to thank staff at the Season's Assisted Living and Plum City Care Centers, Dr. Rucker and staff at Chippewa Valley Hospital, Fr Paul and Fr Eric, and the many family and friends who have provided support in any way to Marion and her family.

    Cousin Rita, Suzanne, Nancy, Sr. Deb and family, on behalf of our family, please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless all of the many years of blessings and great memories of Aunt Marion. I recall as a young girl the visits to the farm and of course all of the Butternut picnic memories. Especially the infamous tree falling! We have a great family history and tradition the Schwab's began many years ago. I am so sorry for your loss, the saddest time of my life has been losing my parents. Our family extends our most heartfelt sympathy to you all.
