Elizabeth "Betty" M. Mulheron

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Asher Mulheron 100 of Eau Claire died Thursday March 19, 2015 and was peacefully called home on her mother's birthday surrounded by family.

Elizabeth was born July 2, 1915, daughter of George & Josephine Asher.  She was born and raised on the Asher farm in Red Cedar, town of Peru, Dunn County.  She completed five grades at the Red Cedar School and three years at Holy Rosary Lima Catholic School.  Her desire was to become a teacher and she also considered becoming a Sister. After 8th grade, she was needed to work at home, receiving her clothes, room and board along with $2 per week for her savings while helping with housework, gardening, chores, milking and field work until she married.  She met the love of her life, Ronald Mulheron, in March, 1937 at Koller's Pavilion, Durand and they were married at Holy Rosary Lima Catholic Church on November 23, 1937.

In 1942, Ronald and Elizabeth moved to Manitowoc for two years, back to Durand where she was a homemaker and mother for their 15 children, before residing in Chetek in 1973 for 22 years.  Elizabeth loved embroidering, crocheting, gardening, canning, berry picking, fishing, sewing, baking, card playing, puzzles and looked forward to the annual Mulheron and Asher family reunions.  She spent much of her time leading the Rosary at the Nursing Home in Chetek where Elizabeth and her husband Ronald were Eucharistic Ministers.

She is survived by her loving children, Dorothy (John) Maule of River Falls, Millie (Jim) Komro of Indianapolis, IN, Pat “Francis” (Joyce) of  Durand, Jerome of Eau Claire, Bernie (Jane) of Menomonie, Betsy (Bill) Erickson of  Brookfield, Bob (Rindy) of Ramsey, MN, Denny (Barb) of Mondovi, Mary (John) Mattick of Eau Claire, Carol (Mike) Bauer of Durand, Kathy (Dan) Bauer of Forest, VA, Sharon (Steve) Brantner of  Eau Claire and Rick of Nixa, MO.

Elizabeth was also blessed with 52 Grandchildren, 88 Great-Grandchildren and three GreatGreat-Grandchildren, daughters-in-law Carol Mulheron of Mishicot and Diane Mulheron of Barron as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and spouse of 46 years, Deacon Ronald Mulheron Sr. (Superior Diocese), who died April 28, 1983 and sons Ron Mulheron Jr., Jim Mulheron, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday March 27, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation one hour prior.  Fathers Don Meuret and George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating.

A private burial will follow at a later date in Holy Rosary Lima Cemetery, Durand.

Friends and family may visit at Immaculate Conception Church in Eau Claire on Thursday evening, March 26, 2015 from 4-7:30, concluding with Rosary service at 7:30PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be directed to: Seminarians of the Diocese of LaCrosse - Office for Vocations P.O. Box 4004 LaCrosse, WI 54602.
