Roberta Ann Stewart

Roberta Ann Stewart age 66 of Elmwood, died Wednesday April 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Roberta was born March 19, 1949 in Plum City.  She was the daughter of Robert and Angeline (Patnode) Bemis and grew up mostly in the Spring Lake Township, Pierce Co. near Olivet.   Roberta attended Spring Valley Schools.  She married Glen Stewart January 31, 1970 in St. Paul, MN.  After marriage they made their home in the Spring Valley area until 1987 when they moved to Elmwood where she has remained the rest of her life. 

Roberta enjoyed camping with her family, spending time in the outdoors, having cookouts with family and grandchildren.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Glen, three children, Douglas (Carmen) Elmwood; Thomas (Aurora) of Menomonie; Tamara (Jason) Shingledecker of Elmwood; one step daughter, Rebecca (James) Matzek of Ellsworth; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Daniel, Evan and Ellyana; two step grandchildren, Elizabeth and James; her parents, Robert and Angeline Bemis of Spring Valley;  two brothers, Robert (Ellie) Bemis of Ellsworth; Stanley (Cheryl) Bemis of Elmwood; five sisters, Sherry (Larry) Robbins of Spring Valley; Cheryl Bemis-Rose of Hudson; Donna (Steve) Stringer of Menomonie; Roxanne (John) Beyer of Elmwood; Charlotte DeLong of Elmwood; a special cousin, Linda Morgan of Plano, TX, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She is preceded in death by a special cousin, Steven Bemis.

A Time of Gathering will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday April 13, 2015 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood, private burial services will be in the Porcupine Cemetery, rural Arkansaw, at a later date.

    Bobbi will always be in our thoughts we remember when we went out to the Black Hills and she didn' t swim but we did get her to go in the hot tub at the motel on the way home , but ya'll know how much talking I had to do. She is and always be one of my very best friends. Bob and I are going to miss her.
    We are sorry we can not be there for support but we will make sure when we are up this summer to get in touch. Love to all!

    Aunt Bobbi was one of those people that never met a stranger. She had the biggest heart and was the kindest soul you could ever hope to meet. Her passing is a loss for everyone who ever knew her.
