Lorraine H. Manor

Lorraine H. Manor age 87 of Menomonie, died Tuesday April 14, 2015 at the Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie surrounded by family.

Lorraine was born November 2, 1927 in the Emerald Township of St. Croix County.  She was the daughter of Nicholas and Myrtle (Meline) Hobbick.  As a young child she moved with her family to Menomonie and she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School.  Lorraine married Elwood Manor September 25, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Parsonage in Menomonie and were blessed with six children.  Besides raising a family, she worked at a few various places, and retired after twenty years of services at Myrtle Werth Hospital.

Lorraine was active in her retirement.  She volunteered many hours at the Menomonie Senior Center, Myrtle Werth Hospital Auxiliary and “Lady Bugs”.  She also was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Her hobbies included painting and teaching ceramics, crocheting, and playing bingo.

Lorraine is survived by three sons and three daughters, Richard (Donna) of Weyerhaeuser, Diane (Michael) Werner of Stoughton, Darlene (Bruce) Schley of Menomonie, Duane (Darcel) of Menomonie, Dale (Brenda) of Racine, Denise (John) Risler of Menomonie; thirteen grandchildren, Dan, Kelli, Beth, Mande, Mike, Jason, Matthew, Amanda, Nicholas, Jacque, Jenna, Larinda, Josh; 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Goss of Eau Claire; one brother, Clement “Jack” (Jean) Hobbick of Wisconsin Rapids. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elwood in 2009, and three brothers, James, Patrick, Francis “Kelly” Hobbick.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday April 17, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. John Mano officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
