Dale J. Holcomb

Dale J. Holcomb age 67 of Elmwood, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family, in the Township of Rock Elm, rural Elmwood.

Dale was born March 30, 1948 in Plum City.  He was the son of Elmer and Nora (Schutz) Holcomb and grew up on the family farm in the Township of Rock Elm, rural Elmwood.  Dale graduated from Elmwood High School in 1966.  After high school, Dale worked with his father and grandfather on the home farm.  Dale married Diann Gutting June 5, 1971 in Ellsworth.  After marriage they made their home on the family farm where they raised their family and Dale continued farming.

Besides working, Dale enjoyed snowmobiling, deer hunting, waterskiing and caring for his granddog, Alex but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his wife Diann, five children, Kristina Holcomb of Elmwood; Danielle (Wyatt) Wathke of Eau Claire; Matthew (Jenny) of Elmwood; Michael (Brandi) of Elmwood; Charlie (Megan) of Elk Mound; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Austin, Kadance, Miranda, Jace and Ruby; three sisters, his twin sister, Dorie (John) Hassel of Vadnais Heights, MN; Joyce (Jerry) Kendall of Elmwood; Janet (Jerry) Huebner of Ellsworth; a sister-in-law, Doris Ann Holcomb of Spooner, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leroy.

A time of Gathering will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday April 25, 2015 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood.

    So sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Dale. I lived up on the corner, the Gibsons, when Dale and Doris were born, therefore going to school with LeRoy and Joyce. Remember when they came home from hospital, had to make a little closet for their bedroom to keep them warm as they were so little. Our prayers are with you at this hard time.
