John J. Seipel

John J. Seipel, Lover of God, family and life died, peacefully at home in Eau Galle, WI on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the age of 82.

John was born, baptized, raised and retired in Eau Galle with his working years spent living and raising a family of 8 in the St. Paul area, with his wife Joan of nearly 60 years. He was a devout Catholic, a Korean War Veteran, former employee of Swift & Co., a member of Laborers Local 132 and a lifetime member of the Tanner’s Lake VFW. John was a dedicated husband, loving father and a hard worker. He loved polka dancing with his bride, playing cards, cold beer, fishing and telling jokes. John touched the lives of everyone he met, always had something good to say about everyone and loved to make people laugh.

John is survived by his loving wife, Joan, children, Jerry (Gina), Jim (Betty), Jeanne (Macy) Brent, Joni (Rick) Kochendorfer, Jack (Laura), Judy (Tom) Lee, Jill (Tom) McGuire and Joy (Adam) Tebbutt, all of the Twin Cities area, 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers, William Seipel and Donald Seipel, sister, Esther Schrader, sister-in-law, Gloria Seipel, brother-in-law Ronald Gifford, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Anna, grandson, Kyle Kochendorfer, brother, Norbert, sister, Norita Gifford, sister-in-law, Vernetta Seipel and brother-in-law, Donald Schrader.

He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. He “loved us all.”

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 15, 2015 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by Durand American Legion Post #181 of Durand. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Friday.

I loved the way he would tease your mom and how she looked like she was annoyed but loved every minute of it. I will never forget your family and remembering wishing I was a part of it!     Joan and family so sorry for the loss of John I remember seeing you all in church and the times you looked so happy remembering when dad and him used to talk after church that was always fun to see you both of you talking to my mom and dad and im sure he was always glad to have conversations with them too
