Died: August 4, 2008 at the St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha, MN.
Evelyn was the daughter of Bert and Ethel (Anderson) Smeltzer. She was born and raised in the Town of Nelson, Buffalo County. Evelyn attended Nelson Schools. She married Paul Brantner February 2, 1942 in Durand. After marriage they lived in Pepin, Nelson and since 1965 they have lived in Durand. Evelyn worked at the Durand Hardware for many years. Her husband Paul died January 29, 2000.
Evelyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends and she especially enjoyed playing cards.
Evelyn is survived by one son, Dennis Brantner of St. Croix Falls, three grandsons, Nick (Sona) of Baraboo, Jim (Jenny) of Green Bay and Mark (Kelly) of Weston, eight great grandchildren, three sisters, Marian (Joseph) Fitzgerald of Minneapolis, MN, Arvilla Kuhn of Wabasha, MN, Marcella (Everett) Marcou of Kellogg, MN, one brother, Glen (Dorothy) Smeltzer of Aitkin, MN, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul and one brother Bill Smeltzer.
