Howard R. Miller, age 83 of Downsville, formerly of Durand,
Born: February 27, 1925
Died: August 11, 2008 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand.
Howard was the son of William E. and Dora (Krueger) Miller. He was born and raised in rural Marion area. He attended Marion School. Howard married Arlene Marks on September 24, 1949 in Enterprise. After marriage, they farmed in the Clintonville area. In 1973 they moved to Durand where they farmed in the Town of Lima, Pepin County. They farmed in Lima until 2000. His wife Arlene died September 8, 2000. In 2001 he retired from farming and moved to Downsville, where he remained the rest of his life.
Howard is survived by four daughters, Sandy Miller of Downsville, Pamela (Bill) Jamieson of Summerfield, FL, Susan (Leonard) Moritz of Eau Galle, Carol (Marlo) Sass of Alma, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one sister Delores Miller of Marion. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Arlene, one son, Roger, one daughter in infancy, and two brothers, DeLyle and William.
