Glenyce R. Peterson, age 71 of Menomonie,
Died; Sunday August 10, 2008 at her home in Menomonie.
Glenyce was born December 26, 1936 in Menomonie. She was the daughter of Glenn and Doris (Carson) Harmston. Glenyce grew up in Menomonie, graduating from Menomonie High School in 1954. She attended and graduated from U.W. Stout in 1958 with a degree in Home Economics Education. Glenyce began her teaching career in Virginia, MN and Zion, IL. She returned to Menomonie to further her education. While studying for her Master’s she did substitute teaching at Menomonie High School. After receiving her Master’s Degree, Glenyce taught for 31 years at University of Wisconsin-Stout in the Clothing and Textile Dept.
Glenyce is survived by a son Fred (Susan) Peterson of Inver Grove Heights, MN; two grandchildren, Sarah Peterson & Brad Peterson; a sister, Mary Hovind of Menomonie; a sister-in-law, Adrianne Harmston of Menomonie; nieces and nephews, Peter (Georgette) Hovind and Charles (Allison Reitz) Hovind both of Menomonie; Chris (Lindsay) Hovind of Trego; Suzanne (Fred) Ciba of Chicago, IL; Tim Harmston of Minneapolis, MN; several step children and step grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Larry in infancy and Michael Harmston; and a brother-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Hovind
