Freda M. Rommelmeyer age 100 of Menomonie,

Died: Wednesday September 10, 2008 at Country Terrace in Menomonie.

Freda was born January 9, 1908 in Glenwood City. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Purnhagen) Luepke. Freda grew up in Glenwood City and graduated from Glenwood City High School. After high school Freda moved to Menomonie were she worked for the Paul Wilson Family as a cook, and later for Dr. Butler Family. Freda met and later married Emil Rommelmeyer July 20, 1935 in Glenwood City. After marriage they made their home in Menomonie. Freda did the bookkeeping for her husband’s business; she also did a lot of sewing for her family and many others. Freda also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting. Freda was also a care-taker for her mother-in-law for many years. Emil died August 16, 1976, and Freda maintained her home for many years until moving to her apartment. She most recently moved to County Terrace in March of this year, were she remained the rest of her life.

Freda is survived by two daughters, Ruth Brandt of Colfax; Carol (Jack) Janecke of Menomonie; five grandchildren, Donald (Karen) Brandt; David Brandt; Amy (Steve) Detterman; Richard Janecke: Jennifer (Adam) Collette; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brandt and Noah Collette; one sister Mary Anderson of Glenwood City and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emil; and daughter Charlotte in infancy; a son-in-law, James Rommelmeyer; four brothers, Harold, Herman, Lawrence & Erwin Luepke; two sisters, Ella Alverman & Elnora Ohmann.
