Dane F. Morey age 76 of Menomonie,

Died: Saturday November 1, 2008 from cancer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Dane was born September 4, 1932 in Trego, WI, the son of Edward Leland Morey and Idella Davenport. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1950. In 1952 he joined the U.S. Army, graduating first in his class from the Army Language School in Monterey California. Following his service in the U.S. Army as a Korean Linguist, Dane graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1959. He practiced law in Mauston, Mondovi and Durand. In 1990 Dane was appointed Circuit Court Judge of Pepin and Buffalo Counties. Dane retired in 2005 and continued to serve as reserve judge.

Dane loved his family and friends. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening, working outside, reading, traveling, singing in the church choir, and participating in church men’s groups.

Dane is survived by his wife Ruth of 50 years, four daughters, Kim (John) Treweek of Wausau; Ann (Dana) Ross of Corvallis, OR; Leslie (Tom) Cervenka of Menomonie; Kathy (Cal) Woods of Sarasota, FL; a sister Elaine (Howard) Palmer; three brothers, Randall, Arvid (Betty) and Carl (Barbara); grandchildren, Cassandra, Noelle, Jayme, Zane, Nicole, Mitchell and Rachel.

Dane was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Rachel Morey.
